Fiorentina, The Midnight Strike - Hunt for Dodo's Deputy. The Name Is Lamptey

Tariq Lamptey has ended up in Fiorentina's sights
Florence, August 23, 2025 - Following the impressive victory in Presov against Polissya , and awaiting their league debut against Cagliari tomorrow afternoon (6:30 PM), Fiorentina has decided to accelerate its transfer market moves, at least those remaining to complete the squad available to Coach Pioli. The club's attention has shifted particularly to the right flank of defense, where the new name is Tariq Lamptey , a Ghanaian full-back born in 2000 and currently playing for Brighton , who came through the Chelsea youth academy.
The player, who has already expressed his willingness to move to Italy, is valued at around €6 million: a reasonable fee, considering his last season was hampered by a couple of injuries. Despite his short stature, Lamptey stands out for his speed, technique, and adaptability, qualities that also make him a valuable option on the left flank. In short, he's a versatile player Fiorentina are considering. For the right price, he could land under Pioli.
Fiorentina's interest is also linked to the uncertainty surrounding Fortini , a young full-back who hasn't fully convinced the Fiorentina manager, not on a technical level but due to his still-far-from-optimal physical condition. Fiorentina, however, has no intention of letting the 2006-born player go permanently: there have been inquiries about him from Torino, Empoli, and, this summer, even Bournemouth, but the club has reiterated its intention to not sell him permanently. The same message was also sent to AC Milan at the beginning of the summer.
Meanwhile, the finalization of Piccoli 's acquisition, intended to strengthen the attacking line, is nearing completion. He is expected to undergo a medical on Monday, after attending the match between his former club (Cagliari) and his future club (Fiorentina). On the transfer front, discussions remain open with CSKA Moscow for Beltrán (Parma has also inquired about him, but they would only take him on loan, with River Plate also being on the lookout for a move in the coming days). Other players considered out of the plan—including Ikoné, Barak, Infantino, and Bianco (the young midfielder would prefer Sassuolo to the possibility of being relegated to Serie B with Catanzaro or Monza)—are awaiting concrete offers. It's possible that some of these players will take advantage of transfer windows that remain open beyond September 1st.
