Is Inter changing their transfer strategy? After long pursuing Atalanta winger Lookman , but never managing to secure the green light from the Bergamo club, the Nerazzurri club is now considering a change of target and position , thanks to their first few friendlies that haven't been particularly impressive, especially defensively . They're no longer looking at a striker but rather a midfielder , and Marotta and Ausilio are reportedly focusing on Roma 's Manu Konè . Inter are even reportedly close to formalizing an offer to the Giallorossi, who have been open to this possibility. But the price for the French midfielder isn't low; the club values him around €40 million , and further bonuses may be necessary.

Juventus-O'Riley agreement / NegotiationsIf they go all-in on Konè, however, it's unlikely the Lookman deal will reopen . Both players would require around €90 million, and without further transfers, the matter becomes more complicated. Negotiations centering on Koné could get underway in the next few hours: sporting director Ausilio is preparing an offer to send to Roma in a deal that promises to be a lightning-fast one. If the deal goes through, Inter would then shift the budget initially earmarked for Lookman to the 24-year-old. Roma are also in a hurry ; Gasperini needs two attacking wingers and would be willing to sacrifice them in midfield. The Giallorossi are keeping an eye on Bailey and Sancho .
