Filippo Inzaghi's Palermo accomplished a feat away from home, beating Cremonese in the Coppa Italia at the "Zini" stadium, thus earning a place in the next round.

The match ended 0-0, with goalkeeper Bardi making a decisive save to keep out Johnsen's final penalty. Brunori, Palumbo, Corona, Augello, and Ceccaroni all scored for the Rosanero. Cremonese scored with Bondo, Vazquez, Mussolini, and Terracciano before Bardi saved Johnsen's shot.
