Tragedy in Florence: Former soccer player Celeste Pin found dead

Celeste Pin, a former defender and Fiorentina icon between the 1980s and early 1990s, has taken his own life . He was 64 years old. He was found dead this afternoon in his home in Florence. According to investigators, there is no doubt that the act was deliberate.
Celeste Pin, who had played for Perugia, Fiorentina, Verona, and Siena during his career, was found dead in his home on Via dei Massoni. The alarm was raised shortly after lunchtime by a relative. Emergency services and the police responded to the scene.
The former footballer, who made 263 Serie A appearances, 200 of them for Fiorentina, remained tied to Florence. His teammates included current Fiorentina coach Stefano Pioli.
