Milan, August 19, 2024 – On the day of Ademola Lookman's return to Bergamo, who will train separately until the end of this transfer window and will likely also receive a fine from the club for failing to report to the pre-established retreat, Atalanta made a major move and secured Mateo Retegui's heir: the Nerazzurri managed to reach an agreement with Lecce for the purchase of Nikola Krstovic . The deal stipulates that the Salento club will receive approximately €25 million (including bonuses) plus a percentage of the player's future resale . The Montenegrin, meanwhile, is set to sign a five-year contract worth approximately €2 million per season. Meanwhile, news is circulating in France that Marseille have dropped Adrien Rabiot from the squad , following a dispute with Jonathan Rowe (a player monitored by Roma and Bologna) following De Zerbi's team's match against Rennes. According to reports from several French media outlets, including RMC, the player's future could be back in Serie A: it's unlikely he'll return to AC Milan, who initially pursued him but then turned to other options. The possibility of seeing him back at Juventus is highly appealing, and perhaps not unrealistic . There could be developments on this front in the coming days. To make this sensational return a reality, however, the Bianconeri will have to try to trim down their squad, particularly in midfield. In this regard, the departure of Douglas Luiz appears increasingly imminent, as he's on the verge of returning to the Premier League to join ambitious Nottingham Forrest, who will pay Juventus around €30 million. The Brazilian's departure, however, could open the door to Continassa for Brighton's O'Riley. Dusan Vlahovic, who appears to be an increasingly viable option for AC Milan's attack, is also on the way out . AC Milan's sporting director himself has kept the Vlahovic option open, especially since there still appears to be no concrete progress on the Hojlund front. Napoli, however, are still in search of a quality striker after Romelu Lukaku's serious injury. According to insider Fabrizio Romano, Genk's Tolu Arokodare is also hotly tipped. At Roma, it was Leon Bailey's day : the Jamaican striker arrived in the capital and underwent a medical today. Official confirmation of a multi-year contract is therefore pending. The overall deal, worth approximately €24 million, is based on a loan with an option to buy, which could, however, become a commitment if certain conditions are met. Finally, in a surprise move, Bologna secured a major reinforcement on the right flank today: the Rossoblù from Bologna have reached an agreement with Cagliari for the transfer of Nadir Zortea to the Two Towers: the islanders will receive a sum close to €7.5 million.
