VNL 2025, the Italians aim for Hong Kong: Antropova, Orro and Sylla stay at home

We (re)start. Week 2 of the women's Volleyball Nations League and the Italian women's team is ready to take to the field in Hong Kong, where from 18 to 22 June, in the new and futuristic Kai Tak Arena, Pool 5 of the VNL is scheduled with Italy, China, Japan, Bulgaria, Thailand and the Czech Republic. Italy, coached by Julio Velasco, fresh from a poker of victories in Rio de Janeiro, is second in the general rankings behind Japan. The Italian women's team will thus try to get closer to the Finals goal by bagging new important victories. Italy's debut in China is set for Wednesday 18 June when, at 7:30 Italian time, the Italian women's team will face Bulgaria. On 19 June, at 11:30 Italian time, it will be the turn of Italy-Thailand, while on 20 June at 14:30 Italian time, the rematch of the final of the VNL 2024 Italy-Japan will take place. Finally, after a day of break, the Olympic champions will challenge, at 2 pm Italian time, the hosts China. Compared to the Rio de Janeiro Pool, and as already established in the seasonal program, Velasco makes some changes to the list of 14 who will leave for Hong Kong. In fact, the athletes Ekaterina Antropova, Myriam Sylla and Alessia Orro will remain to work at the Pavesi Center with the National B team.
The senior national team B The senior national team B, led by coach Carlo Parisi, will meet on Monday 16 June.
