The excitement of Open Monuments 2025 on November 8th and 9th, between history and wonder

The weekend of November 8 and 9, 2025, marks the final chapter of the 29th edition of Monumenti Aperti , the national event dedicated to discovering Italy's cultural and artistic heritage. This year, too, the project—awarded the Medal of Representation by the Presidency of the Italian Republic—encourages citizens and tourists to visit churches, palaces, archaeological sites, and art venues.
The 2025 edition, sponsored by the European Parliament and major Italian institutions, is funded by the Ministry of Labor and Social Policies. During the final weekend of the festival, the spotlight will be on Bitonto , Campi Bisenzio , Elmas , and Turin . BitontoIn Bitonto , Puglia, Open Monuments 2025 takes visitors on a journey through history, from Neolithic caves to Romanesque magnificence. The program includes visits—led by primary and secondary school students—to iconic sites such as the Archaeological Museum , the Traetta Theater , and the Museum of Rural Civilization —to name just a few.

On Saturday, November 8th, the monuments will be open to visitors free of charge from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and on Sunday, November 9th, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Bitonto, a city of stone and olive oil, is ready to warmly welcome those who wish to discover its most authentic soul.
Campi BisenzioThe Tuscan leg of Campi Bisenzio combines history, art, and civic rebirth. Its medieval heart is home to iconic monuments such as the Rocca Strozzi, the Pieve di Santo Stefano, the ancient walls, and the Convent. This leg also boasts masterpieces of modern architecture, such as Michelucci's famous Chiesa dell'Autostrada and the Antonio Manzi Museum.
The weekend program offers free tours of the Convento delle Bettine . Opening hours are scheduled for Saturday and Sunday from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. The tours will be led by secondary school students in collaboration with local associations. After the 2023 flood, the municipality is renewing its message of resilience and community , opening the doors of its artistic heritage as a symbol of shared rebirth.

Just a few kilometers from Cagliari , Elmas tells its long history through a journey through archaeology and faith. During the weekend, from 9:00 am to 12:30 pm and from 3:30 pm to 5:00 pm, the Roman excavations , the Casa Suella , the Church of San Sebastiano , and the Historic Municipal Cemetery can be visited.
Students and local associations will guide visitors through ancient ruins, history, and memories. Elmas thus celebrates its identity as a supportive community, where memory meets the future.
