Zoagli, in this village there is a walk in the rock on a dream sea

There is a small village in Liguria that is a real daydream. Nestled between the hills and the sea, small in size, full of treasures and with a pebble beach overlooking a dream water, Zoagli is also the right place for a walk by the sea , between rocks and water.
It is located in the province of Genoa, very close to other places that are worth visiting and is a perfect stop for those looking for a holiday in an authentic place , where time seems to have stopped and passes slowly between incredible scenery and that sense of relaxation that envelops you.
Here is one of the most beautiful walks by the sea, between rocks and water , which offers suggestive views and becomes the ideal place to fill up on beauty.
Zoagli, where the walk is between rock and seaLiguria is a succession of seaside villages, towns and larger urban centers that overlook the coast, most of the time offering decidedly suggestive walks by the sea. But there is one that, perhaps, wins over all the others. It is that of Zoagli which, from the main square, extends in two different directions and offers unforgettable views.
A place that seems out of time : between the rock that throws itself between the waves and the sea, in fact, there is this special walkway that gives the sensation of being suspended, of being far from everything. The colors in the background: the gray of the stone, the blue of the water and the blue of the sky.
A place with a romantic charm , which unfolds between rocks, small coves and a dream sea. During the day the view extends and from here you can embrace with your gaze a part of the Gulf of Tigullio , that stretch of coast and sea that goes from the promontory of Portofino and extends to Sestri Levante , including within it - and without repeating the extremes - magnificent locations such as Santa Margherita , Rapallo, Chiavari and Lavagna . In the evening, however, the Canevaro promenade becomes the perfect location for a romantic and unforgettable walk.
In addition to this, however, Zoagli also offers much more: history, architectural excellence, landscapes that leave their mark and hiking trails to immerse yourself in nature. A small treasure chest to discover and explore.
What to do in ZoagliIn addition to a walk (or more than one) along the Canevaro seaside path, there are many other things to do and see in Zoagli.
Among the first are, without a doubt, the days at the beach : here you can enjoy the sun's rays in summer, but also in autumn and spring. Not to be underestimated, then, is winter, when it invites you to stay outdoors to enjoy those days of clear and incredible sky that January and February offer.
The sea is beautiful , the beaches with pebbles, while rocks emerge from the water here and there: wearing a mask and snorkel allows you to explore under the surface of the water and discover its treasures. One of these is the Madonna del Mare, a 1.60 meter high bronze sculpture created by the artist Marian Hastianatte. It is located nine meters deep, in front of the Rotonda Grande which is located on the promenade.
If you love walking, Zoagli offers many routes . Starting from the creuze, pedestrian streets typical of Liguria that climb up the hills here. There are two, in particular, that lead on one side to San Pietro di Rovereto and on the other to San Pantaleo and Sant'Ambrogio. The hamlets are all particularly fascinating and from there you can enjoy a breathtaking view. Then there are also hiking routes such as the one known as the Sentiero dei 5 Campanili that winds for 11 kilometers - approximately - and leads you to the discovery of the surroundings and the churches present.

As mentioned, there are many religious buildings , among which we point out the church of San Pietro di Rovereto where you can see a marble cinerary urn, dating back to around the 1st century AD, that of San Giovanni Battista in the hamlet of Semorile, instead, preserves part of the ashes of the saint, while the oldest and dating back to around the 12th century is the church of San Pantaleo.
The evidence, instead, of the period of the Saracen pirate raids can be recognized in the watchtowers that are found in the territory of the village. Near the central beach of Zoagli, in fact, you can find the Saracen Tower of Levante and the Tower of Ponente incorporated into the Canevaro Castle.
Among the valuable civil buildings in the municipality, it is worth mentioning Castello Canevaro , which over time developed around the watchtower, which was built starting in 1550, following the attack by the corsair Dragut which took place in Rapallo in 1549.
Among the wonders of Zoagli, there is an ancient tradition: that of weaving damasks and velvets.

You can't say you've passed through this region without having tasted some of its typical products such as focaccia, fish, pesto and oil.
How to reach the villageGetting to Zoagli is really simple. First of all, it is served by the train station, so those staying in other areas of Tigullio can reach the seaside village without any impediments by train. Furthermore, it is close to two motorway exits. The Rapallo one is the closest, while a little further away is the Chiavari one.
A stunning village, nestled between the hills and overlooking the sea , with one of the most beautiful, romantic and evocative walks in all of Liguria.
