Canadian citizenship to be revoked from Elon Musk

A total of 170,000 Canadians have signed a petition to strip businessman Elon Musk of his Canadian citizenship.
The petition will be tabled in the House of Commons once a new session begins.
“Elon Musk has engaged in activities that run counter to Canada’s national interest; he has used his wealth and power to influence our elections; and he has become a member of a foreign government that is attempting to erase Canadian sovereignty,” the petition argued.
In December last year, Elon Musk called Prime Minister Justin Trudeau an “unbearable jerk.”

The world's richest man was born in Pretoria, South Africa, but has Canadian citizenship through his mother who was born in Regina, Saskatchewan, according to Radio Canada.
The petition insisted that attempts by social network owner X to attack Canadian sovereignty must be addressed.
The House of Commons is due to resume sitting on 24 March, so the petition will be open until June.
A general election is also expected to be called before MPs return to regular sessions.
