THEY DEMAND THE RELEASE OF THE DETAINEESAccording to current laws , Community Police officers can only use low-caliber weapons , .22 caliber rifles and pistols. They can also use shotguns and must not leave the territory to which they belong armed.
CRAC Regional Councilor Martin Rosales Sierra called for the release of his five companions as they left their territory armed to take a wounded person to a hospital, which is a humanitarian service .
It should be noted that the detainees belong to the Original Community Police , which began in Guerrero some 29 years ago and they were elected in an assembly of their people. Despite this, the detainees were brought before a Federal judge accused of supplying weapons.
