Israel launches new attacks on military facilities in Syria

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed this Friday a new series of airstrikes in the Syrian province of Latakia, located in the west of the country. According to an official statement released through its channels, the operations specifically targeted weapons storage facilities and air defense systems.
According to the statement, the targets included warehouses containing coastal missiles, which, according to the IDF, posed a direct threat to both international maritime navigation and Israel's security. In addition, surface-to-air missile components were struck in the same region.
"Recently, the Israel Defense Forces attacked weapons storage facilities containing coastal missiles that posed a threat to international and Israeli maritime freedom of navigation in the Latakia area of Syria," the official statement said.
Israeli authorities emphasized that these actions are part of their defensive strategy to maintain freedom of action in the region. In a post on its official Telegram channel, the IDF stated: “The IDF will continue to operate to maintain freedom of action in the region, in order to carry out its missions, and will act to eliminate any threat to the State of Israel and its citizens.”
