Lázaro Cárdenas Plan will provide justice plans to communities: Claudia Sheinbaum

When launching the Justice Plan for the Amuzgo People, Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum recalled that her administration is promoting the Lázaro Cárdenas del Río Plan, which revives the former president's initiative for the Balsas Basin region, focusing on marginalization and vulnerability.
From Tlacoachistlahuaca, Guerrero, the President of the Republic stated that the task is under the direction of Lázaro Cárdenas Batel, head of the Office of the President of the Republic and grandson of former President Lázaro Cárdenas del Río, to develop justice plans in Guerrero, Michoacán, part of Puebla, part of Morelos, and the State of Mexico.
Now I've given the task to Lázaro Cárdenas (Batel), grandson of General Lázaro Cárdenas, to recover the general's program and for us to develop justice plans throughout the Balsas region, of which the Amuzgo people are a part," he emphasized.
With a commitment to return in eight months to review the Amuzgo people's progress, the Chief Executive celebrated the fact that, for the first time in 2025, Indigenous and Afro-Mexican peoples and communities began receiving a direct budget earmarked for improving community infrastructure, according to their uses and customs.
This fund, part of the Social Infrastructure Contribution Fund (FAISPIAM), allocates more than 12 billion pesos to these communities.
"Do you think we'll return in eight months? Do you think so? To follow up on the people's justice plan for Moscow. I also want to tell you that all the communities have already held their assemblies. For the first time in history, Indigenous peoples receive a direct budget," he said.
Recognition of indigenous peoples is part of the 4T: Evelyn Salgado
In her speech, Guerrero Governor Evelyn Salgado Pineda emphasized that recognition of the Amuzgo people is part of the Fourth Transformation's plans for the recognition of indigenous peoples.
"This Amuzgo People's Justice Plan is not just another program; it is full recognition of a people who have resisted centuries of dispossession and defended their identity with dignity," he celebrated.
The state leader emphasized that Guerrero joined in supporting the initiative for the direct delivery of the Social Infrastructure Contribution Fund for Indigenous and Afro-Mexican Peoples.
"Let the people decide, let the people command, let the people directly exercise their resources. That's why what has been done with the budget, with the Fund for Social Infrastructure Contributions for Indigenous and Afro-Mexican Peoples, is so important. Today, for the first time, the communities themselves receive their resources and decide how to invest them according to their priorities, their uses, and customs," he asserted.
