Mexico City Government addresses rain damage

Mexico City emergency services, in coordination with personnel from the city halls, responded to the effects of heavy rains in different areas of the capital; 69 flooding incidents were reported.
The heavy rains recorded in the country's capital , mainly in the northeast area, generated 69 puddles, which occurred in the municipalities of Iztacalco, Venustiano Carranza, Coyoacán, Cuajimalpa, Cuauhtémoc, Gustavo A Madero, Tláhuac, Xochimilco and, mainly, in Iztapalapa, for which the joint operation "Tlaloque" was implemented.

Following the downpours, no injuries were reported ; however, damage was done to vehicles and homes, including in the Santiaguito neighborhood in the Xochimilco borough, where city police officers assisted in removing water from flooded buildings.
Members of the SSC's Traffic Undersecretariat and the Heroic Fire Department worked to lower the water levels in puddles that formed on Ignacio Zaragoza Causeway at the intersection with Cayetano Andrade.
On Calzada Ignacio Zaragoza, near the Puente de la Concordia Bridge, police officers assisted stranded motorcyclists and motorists by freeing their vehicles from the puddles. They also helped residents safely cross the road.

The Undersecretariat of Political Coordination of the Government Secretariat established a link with the Secretariat of Integrated Water Management (Segiagua) to activate drainage pumps on Calzada Ignacio Zaragoza.
In response to the complete closure of Line A, the capital's police implemented a support operation with vans to transport commuters.
Emergency services are also working on the Ermita Iztapalapa Causeway, as well as in the Santa Marta Aztahuacán and Santiago Acahualtepec neighborhoods, to address the various flooding incidents reported.
It should be noted that Cablebús Lines 1 and 3 disembarked passengers due to a thunderstorm and resumed operations after the effects of the meteorological phenomenon subsided.
Personnel from the Secretariat of Comprehensive Risk Management and Civil Protection (SGIRPC) arrived at a property located at 60 Mérida Street in the Roma neighborhood, where part of the facade and a wall of the uninhabited building had collapsed.
The SGIRPC (National Meteorological Service) issued a red alert due to persistent heavy rain and hail in the municipalities of Coyoacán, Iztapalapa, and Miguel Hidalgo, where rainfall of between 50 and 70 millimeters is expected during the early hours of Tuesday.
An orange alert was issued due to persistent heavy rain and hail in the municipalities of Benito Juárez, Cuajimalpa, Iztacalco, Tláhuac, and Xochimilco; while a yellow alert was issued for the remaining districts.
