Peronism will request the dismissal of any judge who is appointed to the Supreme Court by decree

The senator from La Rioja , Florencia López , announced that if the Government goes ahead with the appointment of judges of the Supreme Court of Justice by decree, her space, Peronism , will advance in the Senate to have them dismissed. These statements arise from the fact that the Government is working on appointing Ariel Lijo and García-Mansilla by means of a DNU , without going through the National Congress.
In this context, the Riojan criticised: "Nobody has the will to sit down and move forward on this issue. We, as I said before, think that this is not about sitting down with a judge of the Court as if you were going to choose a jacket or a shirt. The judge who agrees to be appointed by decree will be deeply rejected by the senators who will move forward with his dismissal," she warned.
Following this, López argued that they will request the dismissal of any of the judges appointed by decree because "if a judge in his first act allows, admits or accepts that the constitution is violated, imagine his subsequent actions," said the Peronist official in dialogue with Radio Rivadavia.
"The president has to understand that there are things he cannot do, he is not an emperor," concluded the former vice-governor of La Rioja in this regard. In the last few hours, the rumor that Ariel Lijo and Manuel García-Mansilla would be appointed by decree is becoming stronger, although the Casa Rosada has not yet officially announced the measure, something that will be known in the next Official Gazette.
Initially, La Libertad Avanza brought Judge Ariel Lijo's petition to Congress to be discussed in the Senate. However, the ruling party did not obtain a quorum to discuss the initiative, so they were even less likely to approve it. Peronists offered to debate the issue if LLA agreed to appoint a female judge in García-Mansilla's place. The ruling party rejected it and activated plan B.
This consists of measuring how the week of the libertarian administration was going and, if necessary, appointing judges by decree, a power that Javier Milei has but that is not usually applied because it would bypass Congress in a decision as decisive as the appointment of a minister of the highest judicial body.
In this context, Eduardo Feinmann said that the Government has already put its alternative in motion after receiving a setback in the Upper House. For its part, Peronism has already gone on alert and is preparing a strategy to dismiss any judge who agrees to be appointed by the head of State through a DNU.
