Planetary alignment February 2025: Exact time to see it in Mexico

This Friday, February 28, residents of Mexico will be able to enjoy the alignment of seven planets in the Solar System. This is a phenomenon also known as the “great alignment” or “super planetary alignment,” which, according to experts, will not occur again until the year 2492.
According to the National Aeronautics and Space Administration ( NASA ), the phenomenon will include the following planets: Saturn, Mercury, Neptune, Venus, Uranus, Jupiter and Mars.
Some of these planets will be easily visible with the naked eye, while others will require the use of binoculars or telescopes.
In particular, the brightest planets such as Venus, Jupiter, Mars and Saturn will stand out for their luminosity , allowing millions of people in Mexico to enjoy the spectacle without the need for sophisticated equipment.

This phenomenon will be most visible starting Tuesday, February 25, but according to the Star Walk website, the planetary alignment will peak on Friday, February 28 , after sunset in Mexico.
Although the exact time may vary depending on the location within the country, it is estimated that the best time to observe the phenomenon will be once night falls, around 6:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. (local time), depending on the region.
This is when the brightest planets will be most visible, such as Venus, Jupiter, Mars and Saturn. To see more distant planets such as Uranus and Neptune , you will need to use binoculars or telescopes.
To see the planetary alignment, it is recommended to look for a place with clear skies and little light pollution. Getting away from big cities, where artificial lights can make visibility difficult, is an excellent option.

While the naked eye viewing will be impressive, it is recommended to allow your eyes to adjust to the darkness for 20 to 30 minutes to improve night vision. This will give you a more enriching experience as you watch the planets fill the sky.
