Rocha Moya: Delegation of chickpea producers from Sinaloa reaches agreements in Dubai

The Secretary of Agriculture and Livestock, Ismael Bello Esquivel, described the results of the trip to Dubai as a complete success, where Sinaloa chickpea producers exhibited their product at the largest food expo in the world, Gulfood 2025 , following the initiative of Governor Rubén Rocha Moya to explore and expand the markets for Sinaloa products to the world.
During the weekly press conference at the Government Palace and after Bello Esquivel explained the details of the business trip, Governor Rocha Moya explained that the decision to look for alternatives outside the country was made because chickpeas are an export product that must be sold abroad and they had to go to Dubai, because that is where buyers from Spain, Turkey and Saudi Arabia are concentrated, after seeing how the inventory was in India, which is the largest chickpea producing country in the world.
The state leader indicated that Sinaloa has a very important advantage and that is that “ our chickpeas are the best and are internationally recognized ” and after this delegation that traveled to Dubai, “I hope that for the good of Sinaloa, things go very well for the chickpea growers.”
Rocha Moya said that this was a very good opportunity and that it helped a lot that the Government had a stand and that the security in the treatment was evident, because if the Government stands up for them, it generates greater certainty for the marketers.
On the other hand, Secretary Bello Esquivel, stressed that after the Governor's instruction to form the delegation that traveled to Dubai, a precedent was set, "because this is the first government that, together with producers and marketers, goes out into the world in this way to offer Sinaloa products, in this case chickpeas, to the markets of the United Arab Emirates and Turkey, which are the final consumers of this product.
I emphasize that the delegation was ultimately a success and is now translating into results for the Sinaloa producers, since their request was for a price of one thousand dollars per ton and now the companies are buying in that range, as well as the La Macarena, Granos Terminel and El Alazán marketing companies in the state, which are also acquiring the product at that price.
Finally, Bello Esquivel informed Governor Rocha Moya that the Saudi Arabian ambassador to Mexico is interested in visiting the agricultural region of Sinaloa, in order to tour the fields and see what other products could be offered, taking into account the potential of that market, where everything is imported, as they are oil producing countries.
