SNTE announces 48-hour strike and blockade of toll booths

Section 22 of the National Union of Education Workers (SNTE) announced a 48-hour work stoppage for February 27 and 28.
The plan of action is that 50% of the protesters will block toll booths and state offices, while the other 50% will gather at the Congress of the Union in Mexico City.
The union urged its colleagues to remain on high alert to prevent any attempt at labor reforms in the Chamber of Deputies that could affect the rights of education workers. They also protested against the initiative of the ISSSTE Law 2025 and for the repeal of the ISSSTE Law 2007.
Teachers oppose the forums for the construction of the new system of the Technical Secretariat, in addition to demanding the repeal of the educational reform, Peña-AMLO.
They denounced the plundering and exploitation of the cultural heritage and natural resources of indigenous peoples.
