The world is saved: Maná is out of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Abandoned Pier.- In an act that proves divine intervention does exist, the group Maná was excluded from the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
A few weeks ago, it was revealed that the Mexican band had been nominated to be immortalized in the Hall located in Cleveland, Ohio, which caused a stir across the country, including at the San Blas Pier.

Maná's nomination marked the first for a Mexican group in over 25 years, following Santana's inclusion in 1998 (Linda Ronstadt was included in 2014, but she can hardly be considered Mexican).
Thus, the committee that makes the selections has now left the Guadalajara band out of the final selection for induction into the Hall of Fame, leaving many "stuck in a bar."

Nominees must have released their first recording at least 25 years before being eligible, and selection criteria include “an artist’s impact on other musicians, the scope and longevity of their career and work, as well as their innovation and excellence in style and technique.”
Along with Maná, Mariah Carey, Phish, Billy Idol, Joy Division/New Order, The Black Crowes and Oasis were left off the final list, leaving the way clear for Chubby Checker, Joe Cocker and Bad Company to be inducted later this year in Los Angeles.
