Traffic operation in downtown Merida due to street closures

MÉRIDA, Yucatán.— The Municipal Police of Mérida (PMM) is carrying out a traffic operation in the first square of Mérida due to the closure of streets for the installation of the stage for the carnival events .
The streets that will remain closed this Wednesday are 63rd Street and 62nd Street, so vehicles traveling on 63rd Street will be forced, upon reaching this intersection, to turn onto 65th Street.
Police also closed 62nd Street at the intersection of 61st Street, so those traveling from north to south should turn west onto 61st Street when they reach the intersection. The PMM indicated that the surrounding streets will be closed during the event.

For tomorrow, Thursday, starting at 2 p.m., 63rd Street will be closed at the height of 64th Street (Monjas), and at 3 p.m. “the other streets, those along the route and those adjacent to it, will be closed,” without indicating exactly where the cuts will be made.
Traditionally, the Thursday carnival route takes place along 63rd Street, turns onto 62nd Street to the north, passing in front of the Mérida City Hall building; upon reaching the intersection with 61st Street, the comparsas turn east and pass by the doors of the Government Palace and finally take 60th Street to the north until reaching Santa Lucía Park, so all the surrounding streets are closed, such as 61st at its intersection with 68th Street; 59th Street from 62nd Street, 57th and 55th Streets from 58th and 62nd Streets respectively.
