Women demand the annulment of the victories of violent candidates before the INE

Women's groups demonstrated at the headquarters of the National Electoral Institute (INE) to demand that electoral councilors cancel the victories of candidates they deem violent, indebted to child support, or unable to hold office due to their poor reputation.

The protesters displayed the questioned candidates, including Eluzai Rafel Aguilar and Madían Sinaí Menchaca, members of the Light of the World , whose leader, Naasón Joaquín , is imprisoned in the United States for child abuse and who will be judges in Jalisco.

Diana Luz Vázquez , from the Ley Sabina collective, read the names of the questioned candidates, among whom she mentioned Juan Miguel Morales , winner of a position as a judge in Mexico City; Mirsha Rodrigo León , winner of a magistrate position in civil matters, and Carlos Enríquez Sánchez , elected to a magistrate position, whom she accused of changing guardians and custody in favor of violent parents; and Roberto Pérez Gutiérrez , who will hold a magistrate position in Veracruz despite owing more than 300 thousand pesos in child support.

Hours later, the INE resumed the General Council session, in which it was finally decided to dismiss the complaints against 27 candidates due to a lack of evidence or a lack of response from various jurisdictional authorities, which made it impossible for the authority to issue a conclusive result regarding the detected indications, said Councilor Claudia Zavala .

Which candidates did the INE request to cancel their victory?

Councilors Carla Humphrey and Rita Bell López demanded the cancellation of the elections of Jaime Vladimir Ángel Cisneros , a virtual magistrate who is accused of harassing his students when he was a professor at the Autonomous University of Nuevo León (UANL); Sergio Díaz Rendón, a candidate for the Monterrey Regional Chamber of the Electoral Tribunal of the Federal Judicial Branch for being a child support debtor; and Genaro Antonio Valerio , a virtual magistrate in Sonora, accused of workplace harassment, sexual harassment, and abuse of power in various courts; however, their request was dismissed with nine votes in favor.

The INE will assess whether to issue a certificate of majority to Héctor Ulises Orduña , the elected mixed district judge in Veracruz, who is in pretrial detention for alleged sexual abuse of his niece. He is awaiting information from the authorities.
