Rita Payés, Oques Grasses and Roger Mas, among the winners of the Alícia awards

The sixth edition of the Alícia Awards honored Rita Payés, Oques Grasses, and Roger Mas as winners of the awards presented by the Catalan Academy of Music. The gala, held in the Oriol Martorell hall of L'Auditori de Barcelona and hosted by artist Glòria Ribera, presented 11 awards to artists and projects for their impact both within and outside of Catalonia.
The gala also served to honor Carles Benavent, who received the Lifetime Achievement Award from Joan Albert Amargós and Carme Canela in recognition of a career that has included a deep involvement in Laietana music, soaring alongside Camarón in La leyenda del tiempo , and collaborating closely with Joan Manuel Serrat and Paco de Lucía. With a career spanning more than 50 years, the Barcelona-born electric bassist is a benchmark in international jazz thanks to his collaborations with artists such as Chick Corea and Miles Davis, as well as more than 15 albums released solo or accompanied by Jorge Pardo and Amargós himself.

Singer and trombonist Rita Payés received the award for Performance after releasing her album Camino al Camino , while Queralt Lahoz won the Internationalization award for her presence on the music scene with her work that blends flamenco with hip hop and Latin rhythms.

Marta G Cardellach / ACNOques Grasses, another of the most popular names on the Catalan scene, won the Live Award for the tour of the album Fruit del Deliri , while the second collaboration recorded between Roger Mas and the cobla Sant Jordi won the Alícia for record production for a work that hybridizes the traditional sound of the cobla with Mediterranean genres.
Composer Albert Guinovart won the award for best composer for the Gaudí Symphony, a piece inspired by the musical of the same name that premiered in Barcelona 20 years ago and premiered to mark the 25th anniversary of L'Auditori and coincide with the 150th anniversary of the architect's birth.

Marta G Cardellach / ACNSinger-songwriter Mar Pujol won the Emerging Talent Award at an evening that recognized the work of Núvol magazine, the Palau de la Música project, Canta amb l'OBC! by L'Auditori de Barcelona, as well as IT Dansa's Biterna show, the Cor Jove Nacional de Catalunya, and Arnau Obiols, who won the Interdisciplinary Award.
