The Israeli army has occupied the home of Palestinian filmmaker Basel Adra , an Oscar winner for the documentary No Other Land , after settlers attacked his village in the occupied West Bank, according to one of the film's co-directors.

"I'm very scared for Basel right now. Because what happens time and time again is that settlers attack Palestinian villages, and then the soldiers come and attack the Palestinians ," said Israeli co-director Yuval Abraham, who said that some of Adra's relatives were beaten by settlers.

According to Abraham, soldiers raided his home in Al Tuwani, Masafer Yatta, and are searching for Adra, whose whereabouts are unknown . The Israeli army has not commented on the matter.

On July 28, in one such attack, activist and film collaborator Odeh Hadalin was shot and killed by a settler in Masafer Yatta. The settler, Yinon Levi , had been sanctioned by the European Union and the United States in 2024 for his repeated violent attacks against Palestinians.

Since the start of the military offensive against Gaza in October 2023, violent settler attacks in the occupied West Bank have increased, with an upsurge also in Masafer Yatta , the group of Palestinian villages at the center of 'No Other Land'.

The documentary covers five years of footage (2019-2023) in the village of Basel Adra, showing the demolitions of homes, schools, water wells, and roads by the Israeli army and the forced expulsion of Palestinians.
