Sales of household appliances and items increased by 147.8% year-on-year

The sales channel for these products was mainly in person, with 77.6%. While the online format accounted for 22.4%.
The sale of household appliances and goods registered a 147.8% year-on-year increase in sales at current prices during the fourth quarter of 2024 (October-December), according to the National Institute of Statistics and Census ( INDEC ).
Total sales reached $1,508,560.4 million, showing a positive variation of 147.8% compared to the same quarter of the previous year, which reached $608,698.6 million.
According to the INDEC report, the groups of items whose sales had the greatest increases were: audio equipment, radio and similar ($57,912.1 million), personal care ($50,911.8 million), other appliances and household items ($230,865 million) and refrigerators and freezers ($203,075.2 million).

As for the selected items with the highest volume of quantities sold, there are small appliances (1,056,943 units), cell phones (590,162 units), fans (511,421 units), televisions, LED TV, smart TV, LCD (315,893 units), air conditioning equipment (303,122 units), audio equipment (302,506 units), refrigerators with and without freezer (211,385 units), washing machines (154,230 units), video game consoles and accessories (118,141 units) and gas stoves (106,399).
The most commonly used payment method was the credit card, representing 45.2% of total sales ($681,727.8 million), followed by other payment methods, with 33.3% of total sales ($501,782.4 million), cash, with 11.8% of total sales ($177,907.2 million), and finally the debit card, with 9.8% of total sales ($147,142.9 million).
Total in-store sales amounted to $1,171,175.5 million, representing 77.6% of total sales and an increase of 143.8% compared to the 4th quarter of 2023.
Total online sales amounted to $337,382.8 million, representing 22.4% of total sales and registering an increase of 162.9% compared to the same quarter of the previous year.
The Autonomous City of Buenos Aires was the place where the largest number of sales were made, totaling $263,364.9 million, an increase of 106.3% compared to the same period of the previous year.
"24 matches of Greater Buenos Aires" was in second place, with a total of $253,986.1 million in total sales, an increase of 108.1% compared to the same period in 2023. And "Resto del país" was in third place for the highest amount of sales, with a total of $991,209.4 million, an increase of 176.1% compared to the same period of the previous year.
