The dollar soars and approaches its all-time high: how much is it worth today?

On a day marked by the scandal over alleged bribes in the national government, the retail dollar rose this Monday, August 25, to $1,330 for purchases and $1,370 for sales at Banco Nación. This represents a $45 increase compared to Friday's close, although still below its record nominal value of $1,380 at the end of July.
Meanwhile, the blue or parallel dollar is available at $1,355 in the so-called "caves," also rising today.
Local stocks traded sharply lower in New York (Wall Street) and Buenos Aires, on a day in which sovereign bonds also fell. The Merval index fell in pesos and fell 2.2% in dollars.
The decline in Argentine ADRs was led by Banco Supervielle, with a 5.8% drop; Grupo Financiero Galicia, with a 5.3% drop; and Banco Macro, with a 5.26% drop.
Meanwhile, the country risk remains above 700 points, at 753.

The MEP dollar , whose name derives from the Electronic Payment Market, is also known as the Stock Market dollar.
This is the dollar exchange rate accessed through an Argentine bond traded in both pesos and dollars. In the transaction, the bond is purchased in pesos and sold for its equivalent in dollars.

It's worth clarifying that the purchase of dollar bills at the counter remains capped at USD 100 per month, in order to preserve the formal economy.
