The ruling party is seeking 30 secondary laws in ordinary session.

The president of the Chamber of Deputies' Political Coordination Board, Ricardo Monreal (Morena), stated that the agenda for the next legislative period will be "heavy," as they will need to approve at least 30 secondary laws.
"We have agreed on the priority agenda. A very ambitious agenda, a heavy agenda to carry out the work of the Legislative Branch," he said.
The Morena member stated that his party and allied factions are pursuing four laws to complete judicial reform, which are contained in three opinions: the Code of Criminal Procedure, the Law against Organized Crime, the Law on Administrative Litigation, and amendments to the Amparo Law.
"These have already been submitted, except for the Amparo Law. The others are in the Senate as the chamber of origin, and we have one more pending. The reform to Article 73 of the Constitution regarding extortion. And we have agreed with the parliamentary groups that this will be the first reform we will make on the 2nd (of September)," he said.
He also indicated that there will be two sessions on Monday, September 1st: the General Congress session and a regular session. On Tuesday, they will attempt to discuss and, if applicable, approve the session on extortion.
“Of the other twenty-odd ones, some of us have initiatives, others we are building, and others we are waiting for from the Executive.
Among others, the Customs Law, a postal law, an amendment to the Organic Law of the Navy, other amendments to the Health Law, a new Welfare Law, a new Animal Welfare Law, and another new law for Indigenous Peoples and Afro-Mexican communities, their rights, and their customs protected by it," he explained.
Thus, he said that at least 30 laws on different subjects will have to be modified, updated, or created.
Protocolary act
On the other hand, the Morena leader confirmed that the presentation of President Claudia Sheinbaum's government report will be handled by the Secretary of the Interior, Rosa Icela Rodríguez, who announced that she will simply deliver the document and then leave, without giving any message.
"He'll just hand it over and walk away. He won't be able to participate in the rostrum, and he'll only essentially hand it over. (...) The senators of the Republic will leave, and we, the deputies, will remain to hold the first ordinary session of the first period of the second year of the LXVI Legislature," he said.
