ISSSTE rehabilitates operating room in Zapopan

This Tuesday, during President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo's morning press conference, the director general of the Institute of Social Security and Services for State Workers ( ISSSTE ), Martí Batres Guadarrama, reported on the rehabilitation of 36 operating rooms across the country in July, one of them located in the municipality of Zapopan.

These improvements are part of the ISSSTE National Operating Room Improvement Program , which seeks to benefit 2 million beneficiaries with actions such as reconstruction, repair, maintenance, equipping, and staffing these surgical spaces.

In Zapopan, the renovated space is the Dr. Valentín Gómez Farías Regional Hospital, where eight operating rooms were commissioned with the renovation of the air conditioning system.

"As part of the 80-Operating Room Improvement Program at @ISSSTE_mx, 36 have been renovated throughout the month of July. Some have already been rebuilt or repaired and are functioning, while others are undergoing renovation," the official shared on social media.

In addition to the Dr. Valentín Gómez Farías Hospital in Zapopan, Jalisco, surgical facilities were improved in other locations throughout Mexico.

In Reynosa, Tamaulipas , the reconstruction of two operating rooms at the “Dr. Baudelio Villanueva” Hospital Clinic has been completed and is now operational.

In the southern part of the country, in Tapachula, Chiapas, two operating rooms were rebuilt at the "Dr. Roberto Nettel Flores" Hospital Clinic, where the equipment process is underway to begin operations. And in the north of the Republic, a new operating room was built at the Family Medicine Clinic with Specialties and Operating Room in Guasave, Sinaloa, which is already providing services.

The ISSSTE general director shared that another action taken as part of this strategy is the reclassification of the Family Medicine Clinic (CMF) in Córdoba, Veracruz, as a Family Medicine Clinic with Specialties and Operating Room , which has allowed the existing operating room to be put into operation.

"The corresponding institutional change has already been made, and the operating room opened last week. Surgeries have already been performed in this operating room, which is fully equipped," he emphasized.

In Mexico City, Martí Batres indicated, six operating rooms at the ISSSTE "1° de Octubre" Outpatient Surgery Center were remodeled and are being equipped. The civil works on two new operating rooms at the "20 de Noviembre" National Medical Center (CMN) have been completed, where the final functional tests on the medical equipment are being conducted.

"Major renovation work has just begun on an operating room at the 'Dr. Darío Fernández Fierro' General Hospital in Mexico City; this operating room will be completely renovated, and corrective maintenance has been completed on the air conditioning system serving three operating rooms at the 'Dr. Fernando Quiroz Gutiérrez' General Hospital." he added.

In northern Mexico, major construction work was completed on two operating rooms at the Ensenada Hospital Clinic in Baja California, and major construction work began on four operating rooms at the Constitución Hospital Clinic in Monterrey, Nuevo León.

Additionally, he reported that in Guerrero, corrective maintenance work on the air conditioning in two operating rooms at the Chilpancingo de los Bravo Hospital Clinic was completed, and the same work is being done in two operating rooms at the Family Medicine Clinic with Specialties and the Ciudad Altamirano Operating Room.
