Here’s What Every Stylish Party Girl Is Wearing in Miami

My best friend recently moved to the 305, which means it’s time for me to pay her a visit. As such, I’ve been Googling, “what to wear in Miami” and “best Miami outfits,” but the results have been disappointing. So, I took it upon myself to do a little research.
Below, I’m breaking down 9 outfit formulas that celebs have worn on their own trips to Miami. Now, as Pitbull himself would say, ¡Dale!
All White

Nothing looks better with a fresh tan than a crispy white (or white adjacent) ensemble, like model Valentina Ferrer exemplified last April. Take note of her billowing pants, which are ideal in that south Florida heat, and how she dressed up the look with a heeled sandal.
Flowy Frocks

I’m not sure which I love more: a cute dress or a silhouette with plenty of wiggle room. Make like Iskra Lawrence last June and be sure to pack at least one sundress that flows away from the body. My personal tip is to bring an anti-chafing stick, too, so you don’t have to fuss with the added layer of shorts underneath.
Coordinating Sets

One thing about the Miami party scene is you’ll see matching set after matching set, a la Alix Earle. I’d make a joke about turning it into a drinking game, but that would probably be deadly. If you want to blend in, just dress like a Revolve model, and you’ll be good as gold body glitter.
Jeans and a Dressy Top

For the swankier set who doesn’t plan on hitting the 6 a.m. club scene, you can never go wrong with a chic denim bottom and dressier top half, like Jessica Alba did here. I love the strapless shirt-and-blazer combo because it really offers the best of both worlds. Is she ordering a mimosa tower, or taking a business lunch? Leave them all guessing.
Simple Linen

Sweet, sweet linen! The hero of hot summers and humid climates. If you take nothing else from this story, just stock up on a few key linen pieces before jetsetting anywhere balmy. Karlie Kloss really nailed this all-black look.
Fun Accessories

Do people actually go to Miami...on business? It just doesn’t sound right, but I’m sure it happens. If you don’t want to lean into midriff-baring tops or mesh skirts, take a note from office sirens (or influencer Bianca Fernandez at Art Basel), and use accessories to make otherwise polished looks a tad more playful.
Figure-Hugging Silhouettes

It’s no secret that Miami is home to a stunning population. In fact, that’s my friend’s sole complaint since moving in: The locals are borderline too hot. What’s a gal to do? Flaunt it if you’ve got it, I guess, just like Jojo Fletcher.
Bold Prints and Colors

As the saying goes, “go big or go home,” and when in Miami, nobody goes home until the lights come on. If you have any items in your closet that you tend to pass by because they’re too loud, statement-making, or “extra,” this is your time to break them out. Channel your inner Julia Fox to wear it with confidence and pride.
A Shirt Dress

No pants, no problem. Dresses are one of the real perks of womanhood. And under the coastal sun, you’re bound to strip off as many layers as possible. Shirt dresses, like the one Gabrielle Union sports here, are a perfect item to pack for your trip. And hi, Tia Mowry, we see you and your big hoops.
