Another agreement between the People's Party (PP) and Vox in the Cortes: reduction of fees, exemptions, and facilities for hunting.

The PP and Vox have been negotiating everything in the Valencian Parliament for several weeks. Thus, another agreement the two parties reached during the budget process will serve, for example, to reduce the cost of the most common regional hunting license (type A), valid for one year, from €12.99 to €5 (61.5%). This demand from the far-right party, introduced to "incentivize generational renewal and financially assist hunters," was a challenge the PP struggled to accept during the negotiations. However, as with the other conservation issues, Vox achieved its objective.

The fee for obtaining a type A license will be reduced by 61.5%.

This is not the only change agreed to in the accompanying law for the hunting sector budget. Both parties have also agreed to exemptions from the fee for conducting hunts or drives in areas with overpopulation of wild boar or ungulates (deer, sheep, etc.). These changes are justified by the aim of "mitigating the effects and damage to crops caused by game fauna," which amounts to 50 million euros.

In addition to easing the burden on hunters, the PP and Vox have introduced a series of changes to the Valencian hunting law with the support and oversight of the Valencian Community Hunting Federation, which yesterday expressed its "positive assessment" of the agreements reached by the conservative groups to this newspaper.

The Hunting Federation has positively valued the changes introduced

Its president, Lorena Martínez, explained that the amendments signed by the PP and Vox will make it easier to expand hunting reserves, relaxing the requirements for integrating rural plots into existing, contiguous hunting reserves or those within which they are located. Furthermore, Martínez highlighted the greater variety of hunting licenses, allowing the regional government to issue more types of licenses to better adapt them to the practical needs of hunting for specific hunting methods, and also for specific time periods, such as through licenses valid for one or more days. This circumstance seeks to facilitate hunting tourism.

The regulatory changes were proposed during the presentation of the amendments to the accompanying law. Regarding the funds allocated to the hunting sector in the future budget, Vox did not consider it necessary to introduce further adjustments after securing a €900,000 allocation from local governments for "the adoption of measures aimed at reducing the size of wild boar populations in areas of overabundance." A juicy sum from which hunters understand they will receive a substantial portion.
