Javier Milei spoke at the IAEF and asserted that he leads "the best government in history."

During his speech at the Argentine Institute of Finance Executives ( IAEF ) Congress, President Javier Milei asserted that his administration implemented a structural reform "eight times larger than Menem's," thanks to Decree 70/2023 and the Ley Bases (Bases Law) . From the stage, he defended his economic policy and stated: "There is no doubt that we are the best government in history ."

“The other day, when we marked 500 days in office, we had already implemented 2,000 reforms. With Federico Sturzenegger on the team, we accomplished 17 times more than in the 1990s,” Milei told the financial executives. He added: “We kept all our campaign promises. What seemed impossible is now a reality.”

In a defiant tone, he took aim at analysts and journalists who question the government's direction. "They keep talking about exchange rate lag , and the exchange rate is free. I'd be ashamed. They're pathetic," he said. He also ruled out a devaluation: "That destroys the working class. But there are those who don't care, as long as they're right."

Javier Milei devoted part of his speech to questioning the Clarín group, which he called "the great Argentine rag." He accused it of conspiring to overthrow the convertibility and of benefiting from the cultural assets law. "They liquidated all the creditors in exchange for favorable headlines for Duhalde," he charged.

"History condemns them. They were corrupt schemers who ruined the country, and today they continue to operate with the same methods. They are serial extortionists," the president declared.

In his speech, he also highlighted the role of his economic cabinet. “I have giants on the team. Federico, Luis (Caputo), everyone who is carrying out this plan. This isn't done by one man alone,” he emphasized.

In closing, he reaffirmed the government's direction and asserted that he would not back down. "The model is successful. For anyone who doesn't like it, I'm sorry. We will continue moving forward," Milei concluded. With a defiant tone and without giving any room for concessions, the president once again positioned himself as the leader of an administration that, in his own words, has already achieved the "most ambitious structural reforms in Argentine history."
