A federal judge opened the door for the extradition of Mauro Alberto Núñez Ojeda, El Jando , to the United States after denying the definitive suspension of his extradition. He is identified as a trusted man of Iván Archivaldo Guzmán Salazar, El Chapito .
On February 14, El Jando filed an amparo suit before the first district court for criminal matters in the state of Mexico, based in Toluca, where he claimed that the order to be extradited out of procedure, incommunicado and/or an order of arrest and detention and/or an order of arrest and detention for extradition purposes issued was illegal
.
However, in his ruling, Judge Juan Pablo Cortés Torres decided to deny the precautionary measure.

Ramón Sosamontes Herreramoro, one of Rosario Robles Berlanga's closest collaborators, failed to stop the trial he faces for his probable responsibility in the crime of misuse of powers and faculties.
The Second Collegiate Court of Appeals ratified the order of linking to trial that a control judge at the North Prison in Mexico City issued to the former official in October 2023.
According to investigations by the Attorney General's Office, in 2014 Sosamontes, in his capacity as head of the Office of the Secretary and Social Communication of the then Secretariat of Social Development (Sedesol), allegedly improperly contracted, with public resources, services with Radio and Television of Hidalgo, which were not carried out, thereby causing a defrauding of the federal public treasury of more than 353 million pesos.
According to the case file, Gabriela Vyera Pineda, Manuel Bárcena Villanueva and Isidoro Jaramillo Olivares, magistrates of the collegiate court, determined that the evidence provided by the Prosecutor's Office at the initial hearing precisely justifies the circumstances of the manner, time and place in which the act with the appearance of a crime was apparently carried out; in addition to the fact that, in accordance with article 265 of the National Code of Criminal Procedure, they are sufficient and suitable to establish the existence of an act that the law designates as a crime and that the accused probably committed it
.
Therefore, they added that the defense should have justified its theory of the case with sufficient evidence to show that the improper element was not proven; which did not occur, so no cause for exclusion could be presented
, and thus they considered the link to the process for the commission of the act with the appearance of a crime referred to legal.
However, the Second Collegiate Court of Appeal revoked the precautionary measure that was applied in the continuation of the initial hearing on October 13, 2023, and in which the prohibition of leaving the country without authorization was imposed.
The aforementioned precautionary measure requested by the social representation is not imposed, since there is no evidence of procedural risk, on the understanding that if conditions change, the prosecution may request it in terms of article 162 of the National Code of Criminal Procedure.
Sosamontes Herreramoro is facing a second trial for the diversion of more than 203 million pesos through illegal contracts for services that were not performed and that had been agreed upon with Radio and Television of Hidalgo during the administration of Robles Berlanga as head of Sedesol.

Members of the Independent Union of Workers of the College of Postgraduates (Sintcop) held a meeting with personnel from the Secretariat of Agriculture and Rural Development (Sader) to address their demands against violations of the collective bargaining agreement (CCT) by the academic institution.
After marching down Cuauhtémoc Avenue to the headquarters of the secretariat, located in Municipio Libre in the Benito Juárez municipality, the professors held a rally while a delegation was attended by personnel from Sader and El Colegio. Among the agreements reached is the commitment of the academic institution to present tomorrow a proposal for a solution to their requests, among which is the payment of benefits, since, they pointed out: "El Colegio argues that it is a 'bad inheritance', but they are enshrined in the CCT."
One of these benefits is the payment of a Christmas bonus, which is included in clause 71 of the contract, and indicates that it must be calculated based on the integrated salary and not on the base salary.
They also demanded wages to be standardised, as there is a loss of purchasing power, they said, because the adjustments are below inflation. They also claimed that they have not been paid in accordance with the provisions of the Official Gazette of the Federation on the so-called guaranteed compensation
.
Strike notice
If no agreement is reached, there will be a strike on March 2, after having held a meeting since December to negotiate the demands.
