The Government was affected by the scandal involving suitcases that entered the country on a Scatturice plane and were not controlled.

"Someone did this girl a favor (Laura Arrieta), but I don't see anything irregular: people returning from Miami with suitcases," was the curious explanation from a source in one of the most important offices in the Casa Rosada regarding the investigation by the Office of the Administrative Investigations Prosecutor (PIA), which found alleged irregularities in the entry and transportation of the CPAC leader upon her arrival in the country.

There was, however, a resounding silence from spokesman Manuel Adorni, who had previously denied any wrongdoing, and who appeared publicly on Monday afternoon to announce the dissolution of the Highway Department and other agencies.

Last March, in his public denial, Adorni had even suggested that the first journalist to report the alleged irregularity in Customs control, Carlos Pagni , was an "imbecile" or malicious. This Monday, however, he made a silent exit on the subject and tried to divert attention with the last gasps of Federico Sturzenegger 's chainsaw and deregulation machine before the powers delegated to the Executive fall.
