The Prosecutor's Office requests an investigation into Leire Díez for four possible crimes.

The Public Prosecutor's Office has asked a Madrid court to open proceedings on the complaint filed by the ultra-Catholic organization Hazte Oír against former PSOE member Leire Díez for four alleged offenses—disclosing secrets, procedural fraud, bribery, and influence peddling—for allegedly maneuvering to influence judicial proceedings, believing the events described could be criminal.
The Public Prosecutor's Office issued this statement in response to a request from Madrid's Investigating Court No. 9, which recently opened indeterminate proceedings (different from the more common preliminary proceedings) after receiving the complaint from Hazte Oír.

Now the Economic Crimes Prosecutor's Office is asking the judge to initiate preliminary investigations because the events described could be criminal in nature, and it is necessary to investigate whether this is the case.
Hazte Oír reported that Díez met "with defendants in various legal proceedings and with other individuals to, through them, gain access to supposedly unpublished and confidential files that could harm judges, prosecutors, and other professionals involved in legal proceedings related to individuals linked to the PSOE," such as the case against David Sánchez, brother of the Prime Minister.

The extremist organization maintains that Díez "sought to provide any type of information, no matter how fraudulent, to achieve his goal" and to this end held conversations and meetings, including one with businessman Alejandro Hamlyn, who is being investigated in the hydrocarbon fraud case.
This is one of four cases opened in four Madrid courts against Díez, and the first on which the Prosecutor's Office has issued a ruling. In addition, Investigating Court No. 2 opened an open-ended investigation into the alleged crimes of influence peddling and bribery following a complaint filed by the Association of the Non-Commissioned Officers of the Civil Guard (AEGSC). The case filed by the Unified Association of Civil Guards (AUGC) is in court, and the case filed by the Justicia Europa party, which appeared in the Koldo case, is in court No. 44.
