The rejection of Amalia Granata's appeal against Locomotora Oliveras in the Santa Fe Constituent Convention was confirmed.

The Santa Fe Constituent Assembly confirmed this Thursday its rejection of the challenge Amalia Granata had filed against Alejandra "Locomotora" Oliveras as a member of the body, despite the fact that, due to the stroke she suffered 10 days ago and her current health, she is unable to take her seat.
The constitutional reform delegates were to decide in the chamber whether to approve or reject the request for challenge filed by Granata, a representative of Somos Vida, due to alleged irregularities at the home of Oliveras, who remains hospitalized in a confidential condition . The model's request had been rejected on Monday by the Petitions, Powers, and Regulations Committee.
The leader of Oliveras's bloc, the Frente de la Esperanza (Hope Front), Ariel Sclafani, requested this Thursday that it be noted that Oliveras will not take the seat "because his health has played a trick on him" and not for the reasons presented by Granata.
Two days ago, a majority opinion was signed in the Petitions, Powers, and Regulations Committee, which requested that the petition not be moved forward. This Thursday, the session began just after 6:00 PM, and about an hour and a half later, the majority opinion rejecting the challenge was voted on. It received 59 votes in favor and 6 against.
Caren Fruh, her colleague in the bloc, described the attempt to challenge her "in a hasty manner."
Granata had justified her participation by arguing that the boxer did not reside in Santa Fe and, therefore, was not eligible to compete in the April elections that defined the constitutional convention delegates.
Amalia Granata was the driving force behind the challenge to Locomotora Oliveras.
The ruling and explanation that Oliveras was elected in democratic elections and that the appeal request had been submitted after the deadline for doing so was read during the session were read. Evidence was also presented showing that the former boxer rented and occupied a home within the province of Santa Fe.
Then, it will be time to decide who will replace him. "On Friday, based on what we've made, we'll discuss the issues and the next steps. Based on that, we'll see how things go," Sclafani said in an interview with Aire Digital.
According to the Santa Fe press, Verónica Colombo , who is a member of the leadership of the Rosario department of the Radical Civic Union (UCR), is the one who will take Oliveras' place.
"She identifies with us and is aware of everything we've begun to do, and she will have the responsibility of taking over from our beloved Alejandra Oliveras," Sclafani concluded.
