Nuevo León is in the future: government bets on investments in Artificial Intelligence

Monterrey, Nuevo León - With the installation of three new data centers in the state and the work of the Nuevo León Artificial Intelligence Cluster, supported by large companies, the government of Samuel García is investing in the businesses of the future through AI.
Emmanuel Loo, Undersecretary of Investment at the state Ministry of Economy , spoke with VANGUARDIA MX about the state's investment projects in this area.

"We believe this is the fastest-growing sector in North America over the next five years," the state official said.
He specified that the Artificial Intelligence Cluster is already operational and that an Executive Committee meeting was held on July 29.
“There are already members from all the major companies in Nuevo León: CYDSA , CEMEX , FEMSA , Tec de Monterrey, Alfa , Arca , all the corporations already have members in this Cluster, so we are making very good progress,” he said.
He announced that the Autonomous University of Nuevo León (UANL) and the state's three other major universities will also be incorporated into the project.
Loo said that strategic alliances are also being formed with major firms such as Microsoft , META and IBM , among others.

"And new technology companies that want to come and set up shop in Nuevo León. It will bring investment to the state, positioning new startups from the state in Artificial Intelligence solutions for Nuevo León's industry ; it's like a 360-degree ecosystem ," he explained.
INSTALLATION OF THREE NEW DATA CENTERS IN NUEVO LEÓN
He specified that there are already three data center projects coming to the state, with an investment of approximately $500 million.
He specified that these projects are intended to address the entire issue of Artificial Intelligence: "There's a lot of investment coming into this sector, which provides the necessary capabilities to help the industry explode," he commented.
He noted that two would be operational before the end of this year and one more would be announced in October .
"In these times when everyone is talking about tariffs , our strategy, that of the governor and myself, is to promote new industries related to innovation , artificial intelligence, and new technologies. These are things we want to bring to the state," he explained.

He reiterated that the state government wants to continue bringing investment to strategic sectors of innovation, technology, software, and AI.
Loo shared that he was recently in Washington , United States , where AI investment in Nuevo León was promoted.
“At the Washington event, the Nvidia CEO mentioned that nearly $7 trillion in investment in artificial intelligence is expected in the coming years, so we want to capture the majority of that investment in our state,” he said.
