Profeco discovered these irregularities in Gameplanet branches.

MEXICO CITY (apro).- The Federal Consumer Protection Agency (Profeco) detected irregularities in branches of the video game store Gameplanet.
In a statement, the federal agency reported that it conducts daily surveillance visits to commercial establishments to monitor compliance with consumer rights regulations.
In this context, he explained that on October 13, personnel from the Telecommunications Sub-Attorney General's Office conducted a surveillance visit to the provider Gameplanet SA de CV, branch of Metrópoli Patriotismo, but were unable to verify the five points targeted for surveillance.

This noncompliance, Profeco added, prompted visits to other branches located in Mexico City on October 14, 15, 16, and 21.
On the 14th, Gameplanet was visited at Plaza Universidad; on the 15th, the Galerías Insurgentes, Forum Buenavista, and Centro Comercial Perisur branches; and on the 16th, the stores located in Plaza Oasis Coyoacán, Parque Delta, and Zona Rosa.
"The Plaza Universidad branch did not display the membership contract registered with Profeco, nor did it verify delivery of the membership contract signed with consumers; it also did not display the minimum user rights letter or verify its delivery, and it did not display prices and rates," Profeco explained.

The same violations, except for the display of prices and rates, were found in the Galerías Insurgentes, Forum Buenavista, and Centro Comercial Perisur stores, he added.
The Plaza Oasis Coyoacán and Parque Delta branches passed all five checkpoints, while the Zona Rosa store did not display the minimum user rights letter or verify its delivery.
In branches where regulatory violations were detected, suspension seals were placed, Profeco said.

"It is important to mention that for the verification actions carried out on October 16, Gameplanet had already implemented measures such as QR codes, updating its website, and integrating document folders into its establishments," the agency added.
In addition to the scheduled visits, and because the supplier already complied with applicable regulations, the Telecommunications Subprosecutor's Office conducted an additional visit to the Gameplanet Parque Tezontle branch and found it to be in compliance with all five points.
Since the initial visits, the General Directorate of Telecommunications Consumer Protection has received statements from the provider, accompanied by documentary evidence, which is being analyzed to determine whether the precautionary measures should be lifted, Profeco concluded.
