Cañizares reveals the exact moment Raúl and Luis Aragonés' relationship broke down: "Don't make me dizzy anymore."

Santi Cañizares , former Valencia and Real Madrid goalkeeper and current commentator on various sports media outlets, has revealed how he personally experienced the exact moment when Luis Aragonés broke off relations with Raúl González and stopped calling him up for the Spanish national football team.
"There's a moment where Luis speaks to Raúl, who's kind of angry because he's not playing. There comes a point where Raúl tells him 'not to bother him anymore'. That probably didn't sit well with Aragonés. He just said that, as if to say 'I'm fed up with coming here and having to explain to me why I'm not playing'," Cañizares himself said on Siro López's podcast.
He also explained that the former Real Madrid striker and legend was a person "with a lot of self-respect" and, perhaps for that reason, he didn't like Luis "giving him explanations": " Raúl was also very unsociable, he had a lot of self-respect. He wasn't a player who just walked around the pitch, he always gave his all... that's probably why he told Luis not to give him any more explanations. Luis didn't like that."
Finally, the commentator also spoke about the case of Míchel Salgado and his departure from the Spanish national team: " Míchel has a lot of character, but he's a very different case. He often got angry... he got very angry with Camacho. He was a fun guy, whom I love very much... but there were times when he went too far. He was a person who didn't get angry at anything, but he had no tact whatsoever."
