With a timely offense and key reactions in moments of pressure, the Saraperos de Saltillo defeated the Charros de Jalisco 8-5 in the series opener at the Francisco I. Madero Stadium, securing an important victory in front of their fans.
José Peraza was in charge of setting the pace of the duel from the beginning, producing runs in the first and second innings with a pair of hits that served to drive in Missael Rivera on both occasions, putting Saltillo ahead 3-0 .

The Charros didn't let up. Edwin Díaz tied the game again in the seventh with a solo home run, but in the bottom of the inning, Alejandro Mejía drove in the tiebreaking run with a double, aided by an error by left fielder Fargas , who had a difficult night defensively.
Saltillo finally sealed the victory in the eighth inning with a solid home run by Fernando Villegas, his first of the year, and an RBI single by Renato Núñez, who took advantage of another throwing error from left field to make it 8-5.
The Sarapero pitching was able to contain Jalisco 's final attempts and secure the victory, in a duel where the offense combined with rival errors to make the difference.
With this result, Saltillo takes the lead in the series and will look to secure it this Saturday, again at home, when they face the Guadalajara team again from the Baseball Cathedral in Coahuila at 6 p.m.
