Javier Ledesma: “With the goal, I felt like the title wasn't slipping away from us.”

After scoring the goal that gave Leones Negros a lifeline in the final minutes of the match, defender Javier Ledesma stated that at the moment he scored the equalizer, he felt a sense of hope and excitement that the title would not slip away.

"I don't have the words. I felt like the title wasn't slipping away. A feeling of hope and excitement. Something I can't describe. It gave us the certainty that the championship was ours, that we deserved it, and that we could crown what we'd been doing. Thank God, everything worked out," he said.

When asked if this would be his last final with the Leones Negros, he emphasized that he feels good physically, and will therefore continue competing in the search for other championships with the Universitario team.

“I always try to approach finals like this. You never know when another final might come, and it's not easy. If it's the last one, I don't think so. I feel good physically, I can keep competing and see what the future holds. If I can keep competing, I'll keep doing it the same way, being competitive and winning. It's a habit that has been created at Leones Negros,” he concluded.
