Paris seeks heir to Rodrigo Hernández . France Football magazine announced yesterday the list of candidates for the Ballon d'Or, an award whose presentation date has been brought forward to September 22 this year. Spanish football, which enjoyed significant prominence last year with Rodrigo and Carvajal among the best, is vying for the award this year with only three candidates among the 30 chosen. The nominees are PSG midfielder Fabián Ruiz and Barcelona players Lamine Yamal and Pedri .
Vinicius also appears on the list of candidates, having refused to attend the ceremony last year after being told he wasn't the winner. In retaliation, Real Madrid did not attend the event organized in the French capital.
