New medical report from Locomotora Oliveras on July 19: What is his health status today?

This Saturday a new medical report was released on the health status of boxer Alejandra “Locomotora” Oliveras, who suffered an ischemic stroke (CVA) on Monday and had to undergo emergency surgery 48 hours later due to a worsening of her clinical condition.

According to the José María Cullen Hospital in Santa Fe, where she remains hospitalized, Oliveras' prognosis remains reserved. She is clinically stable, receiving mechanical ventilation and constant neurological monitoring, according to the hospital's director, Bruno Moroni.

The athlete is being treated by a multidisciplinary team composed of specialists in intensive care, neurology, and neurosurgery, who are closely monitoring her progress. Furthermore, she is undergoing daily tests, according to Aire de Santa Fe.

"Locomotora" is currently undergoing postoperative care for a decompressive craniectomy, a procedure performed on Wednesday after a CT scan showed a deterioration in her condition.

The surgery involved relieving intracranial pressure by creating a space that would allow the tension affecting other areas of the brain to be released, thus preventing further damage.

Since the beginning of her hospitalization, the former boxer—who was scheduled to participate in her province's constitutional convention to promote reforms to the Constitution —has experienced a loss of mobility on the left side of her body.

Oliveras was admitted to the Cullen Hospital emergency room at 9:20 a.m. on Monday, where she arrived after beginning to experience symptoms that something was not right with her health. The hospital confirmed that the patient was suffering from confusional syndrome associated with a loss of mobility on the entire left side of her body.

After conducting a case study, doctors concluded that "Locomotora" had suffered a left-sided ischemic stroke.

Due to her medical condition, the former boxer—who underwent plastic surgery last week, although it has not been determined whether the operation is related to the stroke—was unable to attend the provincial legislature to be sworn in as a representative at the start of the Santa Fe Constitutional Reform Convention.
