Chivas coach Oscar Garcia did not coach the match against Atletico de San Luis due to a fever prior to Wednesday's game . His place was taken by his technical assistant, while the red-and-white coach received medical attention.
Sources close to the team report that the Spanish coach did not go out on the field because he had stomach problems and was not in optimal condition, so he had to be treated by the medical staff.
Later, while he was being evaluated, Guadalajara issued a statement through its social networks, assuring that the coach was transferred to the hospital , so he did not return to the field.
"Our coach, @oscargarciaj, presented fever and symptoms of gastroenteritis after his arrival at Alfonso Lastras, so he was transferred to a hospital for evaluation. Cheer up, Mister!" the club reported.
In García's absence from the bench, his place was taken by the technical assistant, Francisco Ruano, who in previous matches replaced the Spanish coach , despite being sent off in the three matches against León on matchday 4.
