River Plate shone in front of its fans, thrashing Barracas Central and reaching the quarterfinals of the Apertura Tournament.

With goals from Díaz, Fernández, and Acuña, River Plate defeated Barracas Central 3-0 and advanced to the quarterfinals of the Professional League.


River Plate had no problems and eliminated Barracas Central in the round of 16 of the Apertura Tournament. El Millonario won 3-0 at the Monumental and will face Platense in the next round, who are fresh off a stunning upset against Racing in Avellaneda.

In the 11th minute, a set piece by Kevin Castaño was headed in by Gonzalo Montiel, Paulo Díaz controlled the ball in the box and finished with a volley worthy of a center forward to make it 1-0 for Millonario.

In the final whistle, Acuña sealed the match with a shot from outside the box that hit the post and went in. The result was a 3-0 win and a place in the quarterfinals.
