Shai-Gilgeous Alexander prepares for Game 2

Oklahoma City Thunder star Shai-Gilgeous Alexander explained this Saturday that he has taken note of the painful defeat they suffered against the Indiana Pacers in the first game of the NBA Finals but assured that he has turned the page to focus on the second game.

"Yeah, I put it behind me as soon as I learn the lessons from that game. As soon as I watch the tape , I take what I need to take from it, and we do that as a group , too. After that, I put it behind me because the lessons have been learned. There's nothing else you can do," the NBA MVP argued.

Honestly, the team has the same attitude (...). We all have the same goal in mind, and we all know what it takes to win games . That's what we focus on the next day: being better and trying to win the next game," he added.

As his coach, Mark Daigneault , also said this Saturday, Shai considered that losing a game does not change the day-to-day life or the mentality of these Thunder who were first in the West with the best record in the league (68-14).

"But losses obviously hurt more. You try to improve from them. And it's a lot easier to learn from a loss than a win , simply because of the emotional aspect (...). The coach is right: it doesn't really change anything. It's just that the losses hurt a little more," he said.

Trailing 1-0 in the series , the Thunder will try to tie the NBA Finals this Sunday in Game 2 in Oklahoma against a Pacers team led by Tyrese Haliburton, who are experts at orchestrating impossible comebacks in these playoffs.
