Tigres were a steamroller. On Puebla's visit to the Estadio Universitario in Nuevo León, the felines resumed their Liga MX campaign with a 7-0 rout at the start of the fourth matchday.

Despite the strain of playing the Leagues Cup at the same time, a tournament in which they advanced to the quarterfinals after nearly two weeks in the United States, the UANL team put forth their best performance to reach the top of the 2025 Apertura with their third victory, despite having a pending commitment.

The goals of the match were scored by Ozziel Herrera (6), Diego Lainez (36), the Argentines Juan Brunetta (51) and Ángel Correa (55), the young Diego Alexander Sánchez (72) and the Frenchman André-Pierre Gignac (90+3, penalty), who left behind his absence due to injury and reappeared in the Volcán . An own goal by Nicolás Díaz (58) rounded out the score.

The Puebla team, second to last with three losses, finished with a man down after Ariel Gamarra was sent off for a second yellow card.

Mexican soccer activity will continue this Saturday with the matches América-Querétaro (7:00 PM), Mazatlán-Tijuana (9:00 PM), and Atlas-Pachuca (9:05 PM).

Miami. Venezuelan José Altuve's 20th home run of the season lifted the Houston Astros to a 5-3 victory over the New York Yankees at Yankee Stadium.

The 35-year-old Altuve, the 2017 MVP, hit his eighth home run in his career.

The game was decided in extra innings . After breaking a 2-2 tie in the tenth inning, the Astros relied on a two-run home run by Taylor Trammell to seal the game.

For the Yankees, star Aaron Judge drove in his 86th run, moving into fifth place in the Major League standings, nine fewer than leader Kyle Schwarber of the Philadelphia Phillies. Houston improved its record to 65 wins and 51 losses in the American League.
