With pink sand and turquoise waters: this is the most beautiful beach in the world in 2025 according to TripAdvisor.

Spain's beaches are known for being some of the most incredible in the world, and millions of tourists from around the globe travel to the Spanish coast each year to enjoy sandy beaches that seem straight out of paradise. However, the best of all, according to TripAdvisor users, isn't located in Spain, although it is bathed by the Mediterranean; to find it, you have to travel to Greece, specifically to the island of Crete.
This is the incredible Elafonissi Beach, located on the western side of Greece's largest island . This sandy beach is special not only because of the turquoise Mediterranean waters that lap it, but also because its sand has a special hue: neither white nor gold, but a pinkish color that makes this beach a magical place. It has a score of 4.5 on the review site out of 16,000 opinions, making it the best beach in the world by users.
Elafonisi Beach, an earthly paradise in Greece
This incredible spot is located in a natural park and is actually an island that connects to Crete at low tide. The distinctive pink color of its sand is due to the fact that it's formed from crushed fragments of seashells, so the hue it gives the entire landscape is both unusual and spectacular. However, the pinkish hue contrasts radically with the turquoise blue of the Mediterranean waters, creating almost pictorial views.
Of the more than 16,000 reviews published on TripAdvisor about this heavenly place, more than 10,600 are five-star and another 3,200 are four-star, while only 380 people have given this idyllic Greek beach a disastrous rating. Elafonissi Beach has certainly delighted thousands of tourists over the years, so it's no wonder it's been named the best on the planet.
Behind Crete's sandy beach on TripAdvisor's ranking is the magnificent Banana Beach in Phuket, Thailand, while Eagle Beach in Oranjestad, Aruba, completes the podium. The list also includes spots in Portugal, Cuba, the United States, and the Dominican Republic, while the highest-rated beaches in all of Spain are Playa de Muro in Mallorca (8th) and Playa de Maspalomas in Gran Canaria (12th).
