BMX star Smulders fifth at fourth World Cup in Papendal

Laura Smulders was unable to repeat her victory from the day before in Papendal at the fourth World Cup match. The 31-year-old from Nijmegen finished fifth in the final, which was won by Bethany Shriever from Great Britain. Manon Veenstra and Merel Smulders were eliminated in the semi-finals.
Jaymio Brink did not get further than seventh place in the final of the fourth BMX World Cup in Papendal. Due to a poor start, the 21-year-old Dutchman could not compete for the podium places. The victory went to Ross Cullen from Great Britain.
