...and about the FoundationThe "Karmelicka 1" Foundation named after Marcin Krasicki was established at the Discalced Carmelite Monastery in Przemyśl. It consists of socially and religiously engaged lay people and consecrated persons who, under the patronage of Marcin Krasicki (a humanist, patron of the arts, a patriot and a deeply religious man) and Andrzej Brzechwa (the first Polish Discalced Carmelite, preacher, translator, promoter of inner life) in the 400-year-old monastery want to create a space for meeting with God and with other people - a space for work, active listening, prayer, therapy and relaxation for everyone. In promoting a spiritually and socially conscious life, the Foundation team uses the rich Carmelite tradition, contemporary knowledge about man and the Christian pillars of European, Polish and local culture.
