Horror on school plates: kids showed photos! This is what they found in food
Parents of students are outraged by the quality of the meals served and the lack of reaction from the authorities - we learn from the TVN "UWAGA" material. - We feel ignored. The mayor was not interested in us and is not interested - they say directly.
According to them, the problem has been going on since 2018, and the tenders are won by the same company that services almost all the facilities – with equally bad results. – It’s tragic in each of these facilities – assesses one of the mothers.
Desperate parents organized an anonymous survey. "Everyone said that their children had stomach aches, that they had rotavirus all the time," says Mrs. Marzena.
The concern culminated in photos taken by students showing food with mold and worms. Although the sanitary inspectorate found no irregularities in the official samples, informal tests revealed problems. Parents say their actions were downplayed. "We were told that we had done something to the food on the way," says one mother. From that moment on, they were banned from taking takeaway meals.
A former catering company employee, Ms Zofia, confirms the low quality of the meals. "The children ate it very badly," she says, also mentioning the poor portions of fruit: "once there were 23 oranges for 117 people."
Parents do not understand why the commune and school managements do not react. - We are poisoning our children with our own money, because we are forced to do so - laments Mrs. Monika.
The catering company "Mały Smakosz" is responsible for, which - as the "UWAGI" reporter found out - operates from a virtual office. The parents conducted a private investigation and discovered that the company is connected to the previous supplier - "Prima Sort". What's more, they claim that the references on the basis of which the current contractor was selected are fake.
Reporter Edyta Krześniak asked the director of one of the facilities: "Isn't this a basis for terminating the contract?" The answer? Although false recommendations are a reason to terminate, the management explains it with the obligation to provide food and the lack of alternatives.
"We are being rejected from one institution to another. I don't know who can help us," says one mother.
