Seniors met at the table once again [PHOTOS]

Senior integration aims to support the active participation and involvement of older people in social life. Local institutions are trying to achieve this in various ways. One of these proven projects is the Biedronka Foundation's "Danie Wspólnych Chwil" project, which invites older people to share feasts and conversations. Another initiative addressed to seniors was the Torki Village Residents' Association.

On the second Saturday of August, another senior gathering in the "Danie Wspólnych Chwil" (Dishes of Shared Moments) series with the Biedronki Foundation took place in Torki, Medyka commune. Also present were Mayor Magdalena Małachowska and Village Head Monika Hanas, as well as councilors Waldemar Fednar and Marek Hanas. Once again, the senior gathering was held in a beautiful natural setting, a gravel pit, inviting guests to enjoy a delicious barbecue followed by a joint outdoor cinema screening.

This was the latest installment of this type of gathering for seniors, organized by the Torki Village Residents' Association "Not Only for Yourself," a beneficiary of the "Danie Wspólnych Chwile" (A Dish of Common Moments) project. Culinary expert Jakub Kuroń, son of renowned Polish chef, journalist, and commentator Maciej Kuroń, is the ambassador for this initiative. The project itself is very simple in its premise: it involves organizing regular gatherings for seniors from the local community. The idea is to invite older people to spend pleasant moments together, exchanging ideas and sharing a meal. This form of integration and addressing the problem of loneliness among seniors in small towns has been offered to seniors by the association in Torki for the second consecutive year. The weather was perfect, and spirits were high. We can only wait for more such successful initiatives.
