A 26-year-old woman from Augustów County put hair dye up for sale for PLN 19. Shortly after, she received a message confirming the sale and a link to click. After clicking, information about an incoming call from a consultant appeared on her phone screen. The fake consultant convinced her to increase her blik withdrawal limits, which allowed criminals to withdraw money from her account.
After finishing the phone call, the woman logged into her online account and noticed that over 4 thousand złoty had disappeared. This scam shows how easy it is to fall victim to cybercriminals who take advantage of the inattention and lack of caution of internet users.
